The months of June, July and August are always hot and suitable for going to the beach and taking part in all outdoor activities.
The summer is the best time to enjoy the seven mile Negril beach strip. People visit here to relax on the beach. In fact, locals travel from as far as Kingston and Portland for a day on the beach in Negril.
The prices for rooms during the summertime are the highest. So book your rooms for the summer months from as early as January and enjoy the nice tropical weather that Negril offers during this time of the year.
You may experience some rain fall for a few days, but the rain will be short and before you know it the sun will be out again.
Autumn Weather In Negril (September, October And November)
Autumn is the time of the year that you will come across the most rainfall in Negril.
This is really not the best time to plan for any outdoor activity. The weather this time of the year is unpredictable.
Year after year a lot of persons take the risk because during the months of September, October and November, you find the cheapest flights and hotels here.
If you really want to take your vacation during the autumn season, the most suitable time to visit is the beginning of September or the last two weeks of November.
If it is a case where you really want to travel in autumn, choose September because the annual average rainy day for this month is less than ten.
Winter Weather In Negril ( December, January And February)
In winter, temperatures sometimes reach as little as 70 °F. As expected, the months of January and February will be slightly cooler than December.
In fact, the temperature in January and February won’t pass 81 °F. This is also the time when the flights, and the hotel rooms are most expensive.
For this time period, you should also be prepared for strong winds.

Come Spring, the average annual temperature is close to 82 °F.
The months of March and April are filled with sunny days, so take advantage of that climate and spend time outdoors before May starts. In May is when the rain really starts to fall.
This is the coolest resort area in Jamaica. The average temperature is 81 °F with some months having temperatures as low as 73 °F.
The early mornings, before 8am, are very cold and can sometimes feel like 60 °F. The afternoons are much better with the sun shining right throughout the afternoon. The evenings are cool and fitting for a night of entertainment.
The nights are just as cold, if not colder than the early mornings.
Personally, if you want nice and hot temperatures for your vacation, the best time to travel is in the summer months. The weather is fantastic, and the occupancy will be around 80%.
Negril is also known for a lot of rainfall between May and October (hurricane season).
Negril Jamaica Weather- Best Months To Visit
The best months to visit Negril as it relates to weather are the months of July, August, September and November.
From September to November, you will find that the occupancy in hotels in Negril is around 50 %.
You will have the beach all to yourself even though you may encounter a few showers.
If you plan to take a lot of photos of scenery, September to November is ideal because you will find fewer people walking around and nice weather as a back drop. In addition, this is the time that you will experience a variety of weather conditions such as sunshine, rainfall and heavy winds.
Don’t get me wrong, the summer months are good for that nice Jamaican sunny weather. In fact, summer is the busiest time in Negril.
Even the locals take to Negril this time of the year to go to the beach, especially the famous Kool Runnings Water Park.
I would say the cold months of January and February are the ones to avoid. You want to stay away from the rain and the cool weather that may spoil your activities.
