Travel To Jamaica

Welcome Home To Jamaica

Unfortunately, you can only travel to Jamaica by air or sea.

Fortunately, the options to travel by air and sea have grown significantly over the last few years because of the entry of more airlines and newer cruise lines to Jamaica.

Below I outline the two options available to you.

Remember that Jamaica is an island by itself and so driving to this country is impossible, for now.

Travelling By Air

Travel to Jamaica By Air

Travelling to Jamaica by air is by far the fastest and most convenient way used to access Jamaica.

When you travel by air to Jamaica, you will arrive in the island at Norman Manley International Airport (Kingston), Ian Flemmings International Airport (Ocho Rios) or Sangster International Airport (Montego Bay).

Norman Manley International Airport should be your airport of choice if you are in the Kingston, Mandeville, May Pen, St. Thomas, St. Mary and St. Catherine area.

Sangster International Airport is primarily used for persons vacationing in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Negril and St. Elizabeth region.

Ian Flemmings Airport is in Ocho Rios, so basically the same areas as Sangster International Airport will apply.

Travelling To Jamaica

These are the three international airports. There are also other domestic airports that you can access to travel within the island.

You should not have a problem booking a cheap flight to Jamaica because everyday hundreds of airlines arrive in the island at all the international airports.

Major airlines that travel to Jamaica include Air Jamaica, Air Canada, American Airlines, Virgin Airways, British Airways Jet Blue and Spirit Airlines.

Before you book your flight to Jamaica, you should ensure that you meet all the requirements for entry as it relates to passports and visas.

Travelling to Jamaica By Sea (Cruise Ships)

Travel to Jamaica by Sea on Cruise Ship

The second option that you have is to travel by sea; most notably, a cruise ship.

Over the past five years, the number of cruise ships entering Jamaica has grown significantly.

For those persons that travel by cruise ship, you will enter the country at one of the ports in Ocho Rios, Trelawny, Montego Bay or Port Antonio.

Cruise ship travellers can expect to spend less than twelve hours in Jamaica Island. However, within that time frame, there are so many things to do.

There are museums, parks, tours, restaurants, hotels and beaches.

If you are in Ocho Rios, you can visit attractions such as Dunns River Falls, Mystic Mountains, Margaritaville and Dolphin Cove.

At Montego Bay, you can visit Dolphin Cove, Rose Hell Great House, Doctors Cave Beach and Margaritaville.

When entering the island by cruise ship, ensure that you plan your daily activities before you arrive because your time on the island is limited.

Fortunately, the options to travel by air and sea have grown significantly over the last few years because of the entry of more airlines and newer cruise lines to Jamaica.
