here and there are many July events in Jamaica 2016. The weather in summer is
just perfect for all outdoor actives.
July 1st is celebrated as International Reggae Day. Concerts and smaller events are held Island wide on this date.
Next, travel
to Portland Jerk Festival in Port
Antonio and taste some of the best jerk food in Jamaica.
Then visit Manchester for the Little
Ochi Seafood Festival that promises to bring together some creative seafood
dishes.
Close out the month with the greatest reggae show on earth with a week-long
schedule of Reggae Sumfest events in
Montego Bay or travel to Negril for Dream
Weekend.
School is out and many Jamaicans are returning to visit, so you can expect the beaches to be busy this month, especially on the weekends.

Jamaica International Reggae Day

On this day, we celebrate the history of Jamaican music. Celebrations will take Place Island wide.
The purpose of the International Reggae Day is to bring more awareness to the history of music; highlighting the path that reggae music has taken Jamaica.

Date: July 3rd
Location: Folly Oval, Port Antonio, Portland
Portland, the home of “all things jerk,” comes alive on July 3rd at Folly Oval. Jerk chicken, jerk pork, jerk lobster, and jerk fish are just a few of the items on the menu.
This food festival never disappoints and is a huge tourist attraction. Some tourists travel from as far as Westmoreland to partake of the day’s activities.
There will be great music and entertainment for adults and children right throughout the day. You can look forward to seeing the top reggae and dancehall artistes from Jamaica performing some of their latest musical songs.
Little Ochi Seafood Festival
Date: July 9
Location: Little Ochi, Alligator Pond, Manchester
Manchester is home to one of the biggest seafood carnivals in Jamaica. This three-day event is a showcase of all the seafood that the southern part of the island has to offer.
Shrimp, lobster, fish, and conch are among the favourite catches of the day among the thousands that attend.
Non-stop entertainment from some of Jamaica’s best dancehall and reggae artistes will keep you entertained for the day.

The “Greatest Reggae Show on Earth” returns with a new line-up for 2016.
New Owner Joe Bogdanovich promises a new and improved Reggae Sumfest. Instead of the usual one dancehall night and two international nights, there will only be a dancehall night and a reggae night.
The week-long line up of event will showcase the best dancehall and reggae acts from Jamaica.
Events will include beach party, all white, sound system clashes and two nights of the top dancehall and reggae acts.
Book your hotels rooms early and look out for cheap flights.
