National Heroes Day is a public holiday in Jamaica and is celebrated on the third Monday in October. On this day, we honour Jamaica’s seven national heroes.
The most visited attraction on this day is Heroes Park in Kingston.
Come out in your numbers and listen to the history of our national heroes and what they did for Jamaica.
Jamaica Food and Drink Festival
When: October 21-29
Location: Kingston
Head on over to Jamaica Food and Drink Festival this month.
This festival offers over 45 chefs and a wide selection of drinks over six wonderful days for eight events.
Many persons say this is easily the best food and drink festival in October.
Tickets will go on sale in September.Patrick Brown Presents "Matey Chronicles"
Date: July 2017 to December 2017
Location: Centerstage, New Kingston
Cost: Children and Adults JMD$ 1,500, JMD $ 1,800 (box seat)
Time: Tuesday to Friday 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 5pm & 8pm
This is your chance to see the most talked about play in Jamaica. If you are out of town, arrive early as seats go fast
You can watch this play with children, friends or family. Food is available for purchase at intermission.

5k Run by Digicel Foundation
When: October 7th
Where: Digicel Headquarters, Kingston
Donation: $1000
Digicel Foundation presents another 5k run for persons with special needs. Instead of the traditional morning run, this event will begin at 7:00pm.
All ages and all abilities are invited to participate. Whether you are placed 1st or 2000th, the real winners will be those persons benefiting from this event.
Immediately after the run/walk, there will be live entertainment and an award show.
