The 21st of October is National Heroes Day with activities being held island wide.
Soccer fans should come out to the grand finale of world cup qualifying matches for Jamaica as they tackle Honduras.

Come see the final world cup qualifying match that will take place in Jamaica. If you have never been to a Reggae Boyz soccer match, you are missing out on excitement.
We are at the bottom of the point’s table, and this is our last chance to qualify for the world cup. Based on the results of other games in our zone, we still have a slight chance to qualify.

National Heroes Day Celebration
When: October 21st
Where: Island wide
National Heroes day is a public holiday in Jamaica and is celebrated on the third Monday in October. On this day, we honour Jamaica’s seven national heroes.
The most visited attraction on this day is Heroes Park in Kingston.
Come out in your numbers and listen to the history of our national heroes and what they did for Jamaica.
Behind The Screen Series (Live Entertainment)
When: Every Tuesday
Location: Usain Bolt Tracks and Records, Kingston
If you are in the Kingston area, “Behind the Screen Series” held at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records is your best chance at live entertainment from the best in reggae and dancehall.
Every Tuesday in October, a new artiste will provide an hour-long set of dancehall or reggae music.
Previous performers include Konshens, T.O.K., Chronixx, Shaggy, and Sizzla.

Beach Volleyball Party Weekend (BVP)
When: October 19th to 21st
Cost: Daily $1,500, Weekend $3,000
When you mix volleyball and Negril’s non-stop party atmosphere, you have a weekend filled with fun and excitement.
B.V.P. is the ultimate volleyball tournament that will promote the sport in Jamaica and neighbouring Caribbean countries.
Competitors from Jamaica, other Caribbean islands and U.S.A will participate in this three-day tournament will be held on Heroes Weekend at seven mile beach.
Proceeds will go towards building volleyball courts for secondary schools.
5k Run by Digicel Foundation
When: October 26th
Where: Digicel Headquarters, Kingston
Registration: Final day October 6th
Digicel Foundation presents their 2nd 5k run for persons with special needs. Instead of the traditional morning run, this event will begin at 7:00pm.
All ages and all abilities are invited to participate. Whether you are placed 1st or 2000th, the real winners will be those persons benefiting from this event.
Immediately after the run/walk, there will be live entertainment and an award show.
