Jamaican events in March include many things to do including Spring Break events, Boys and Girls Championship, soccer match, gospel concert, marathon charity events, bacchanal parties, and more reggae month concerts.

Spring break in Jamaica

When: March 8th to March 29th

Where: Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Negril and Kingston

Spring Break in Jamaica can be just as exciting as popular spring break destinations like Cancun or Miami.

Negril, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios make for exciting and affordable non-stop Jamaican events in March.

Sunset Resorts and RIU resorts are known to host spring break parties because of prices and entertainment packages.

In Montego Bay, BritJam Spring Break Weekend is the number-one party holiday. Day-and-night parties for seven days and six nights, with spring breakers from all over the world.

Thousands of British visitors visit Jamaica for non-stop partying and excitement. Travel and go on day activities at beaches, restaurants and attractions.

Boys and Girls Championship

When: March 12 to 16

Where: The National Stadium, Kingston

This is arguable the best secondary school track and field sporting event in the world.

Numerous college scouts from worldwide attend this five-day event to recruit the best athletes to represent their colleges and universities.

Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, Yohan Blake, and Shelly-Ann Fraser all once took place at this weeklong event.

Jamaica vs Panama

When: March 22nd

Where: The National Stadium, Kingston

On March 22nd, the Jamaica senior football team will tackle Panama at the National Stadium in Kingston on their quest to qualify for the 2014 Soccer World Cup in Rio, Brazil.

The Jamaica team, also known as The Reggae Boys, are coming off a well-played draw against a strong Mexican squad.

A win at home will secure three more points in this, the final and crucial stage of the CONCACAF qualifying stage for the World Cup in 2014.

Kingston City Run

When: March 8th to 10th, 2013

Where: Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston

For those persons that missed last month's charity run hosted by Sagicor, you have a chance to redeem yourself at the Kingston City Run.

This event is not just one day but a weekend of activities, including a soca concert, health fair and expo, 1/2 marathon and 5k race/walk. 

All proceeds will be donated to four major charities with the key support going to the homeless population.

Elasha Spring Festival

When: March 3rd to 8th

Where: Negril

Elasha Spring Festival provides an alternative to traditional spring break activities. This festival includes only gospel activities, on the beaches of Negril.

Seven days of gospel activities in the resort area of Negril, as well as, gospel beach party, jazz and blues festival, poolside party, and children activities.

This is surely one of the best gospel festivals in Jamaica. Stay at an all-inclusive resort, a villa, or a cheap room in Negril.

Bacchanal Parties

When:  March 1st to 31st

Where: Kingston

March is when the bacchanal soca parties become exciting. These events are well attended by local and overseas acts performing at least three times weekly.

The majority of the parties are held in the Kingston region, with Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril having their fair share of concerts.

You can’t lose with unlimited drinks, food, non-stop soca music and dancing.

Be careful because these parties can be addictive.

Reggae Month (Continues)

Where: Islandwide

February is reggae month in Jamaica; however, since February is a short month; quite a few activities spill over into March.

In March, you will find a few more reggae concerts and events going on throughout the island.

Easter Weekend Ocho Rios

When: Ocho Rios

Where: March 29th to April 1st

Good Friday is the beginning of a host of parties in the resort area of Ocho Rios.

Popular party themes include Daydreams, Fantasy and Beach Jouvert. This is the Ocho Rios version of ATI Negril in the Easter.

Party -goers from Negril, Montego Bay, Portland and Kingston book out the rooms in Ocho Rios, and party for the entire Easter weekend from Thursday evening to Monday evening.
